Dear Sir:
On January 27, 2005, government leaders and concentration camp survivors from throughout the world are to gather at the site of the notorious Auschwitz concentration camp to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of its liberation.
Mrs. Simone Veil, former French Minister of Health, who was a Jewish inmate of Auschwitz, is to speak at this gathering.
Mrs. Veil is well known for having brought about the legalization of abortion in France.
Thus, she is one of those chiefly responsible for an ongoing destruction of human life far exceeding that of the Nazis.
In her pro-abortion activities she has acted diametrically contrary to the tenets of Judaism.
In view of the above, it is exceedingly inappropriate that Mrs. Veil speak at the Auschwitz liberation commemoration and we submit our emphatic protest thereof.
